Recent Work

Shareholder dispute - litigation
We represented a large indigenous bank in a claim brought by share holders/retired employees against the bank for payment of dividends, bonuses and scrip issues.


Electricity - arbitration
We are part of a team of lawyers currently advising and representing the Federal Government of Nigeria on a dispute relating to a Power Purchase agreement of an onshore badge. The Pursuer is a multinational electricity company who claims substantial damages on alleged breach of contract.


Oil and Gas - Litigation
We were recently engaged by the Federal Government of Nigeria to handle a number of claims involving losses totalling $ USD 500 million relating to the vandalisation of pipelines and the security implications.


Professional negligence/recoveries - litigation
Acting for a large indigenous bank, we successfully defended the bank in a $ USD 5 million suit. The Plaintiff claimed that the bank in transferring a bill of laden to a third party importer acted negligently and as a result caused the Plaintiff losses.


Regulatory - NSITF investigation
In a suit filed by the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund we acted in defense for an indigenous bank and successfully obtained an order of dismissal in favour of the bank.
