Our banking and finance department is as old as the firm. We have a wealth of expertise in this area resulting from many years of varied experience in this sector. We have advised several banks on issues ranging from financing, restructuring, debt recovery, divestiture as well as documentation and regulatory compliance issues.

Our commercial litigation department works very closely with our corporate department with the aim of not only averting damaging claims against our clients but also ensuring the provision of a proper defense where necessary. Acting for a leading Nigerian based financier in connection with the restructuring of its client’s indebtedness into equity options.

Regulatory
Advising in, conjunction with other firms, one of the largest local banks on its proposed buy out of another local bank.

Syndicated loan
Acting for an international lender on a syndicated loan, raising in total the sum of $100 million.

Acting for a Nigerian based bank on behalf of a local customer borrower on its syndicated loans and LC facility raising the equivalent of $100 million.
